How long your propane tank stays filled depends on a variety of factors, including the size of the container and the amount of fuel your home or business uses. You can look at the burn rating of your furnace and compare it to the energy produced by one gallon of propane (about 92,000 British Thermal Units or BTUs). A furnace with a burn rating of 100,000 would use about 0.92 gallons of fuel per hour.

Once you know how quickly your furnace uses fuel, you multiply the amount by the capacity of your propane tank to find out how long a filled tank will last.

If you already use propane at your home and are interested in switching to SMO Energy from another supplier, we will need to give you a new tank. We cannot fill a tank that belongs to another company for liability reasons.
